Hi, I'm Yuvan Kumar.

I am an award-winning multimedia journalist and photographer with a passion for telling compelling stories.

These have ranged from untangling the complex world of drug smuggling in private aviation, to an exclusive on a Nazi-looted Kandinsky painting sold in 1940. And showing, despite its struggle to be born in 1959, Notting Hill Carnival 2019 in all its glory.

From England’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ campaign to Waiting, Watching, Wishing on a balmy day in the Southern Indian states of Kerala and Goa. And this ode to London’s Brutalist architecture.

I am fascinated by a range of topics spanning culture, music, sustainability and immigration.

Whether its locked in a photograph, conveyed through film or written in words, what intrigues is learning the essence of the people and climates which make the story.

Currently, I write about a combination of subjects including — but not limited to — art, the future of flight, electric technology and business aviation.

As well as storytelling through the above media, I have picked up design experience for digital magazines, social media pages and websites (such as this one).

Past work and experience includes Dove, Dazed, The Sunday Times, Condé Nast Traveller, UNICEF and NME.

I hold a degree in Journalism from Goldsmiths, University of London. Please feel free to get in touch via email or social media below.
